Women Residential Facility

Description:
Endecon, Incorporated was commissioned by the Delaware State University Board to provide consultant engineering services - Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and Fire Protection for the complete upgrade of this 1970 vintage building. The building was constructed to house 300 students, on three (3) levels and basement. Included in Endecon’s design for upgrade of the building were:

HVAC: Design of a zone chilled water system with in room fan coil units. Provided fresh air to meet new ASHRAE requirement for Indoor Air Quality (IAQ). Upgraded ventilation and exhaust for private restrooms and common restrooms facilities. Automatic temperature control for each room with building/campus energy management system.

ELECTRICAL: Provided design for upgraded electrical power distribution. Included were surge suppression system for each room for computers and other associated equipment.

LIGHTING: Upgraded lighting to meet new Illumination Engineering Society (IES) standards for residential/dormitory facilities. Upgrade lighting for corridors, showers, shower rooms, toilets and storage areas. Upgraded lighting for building perimeter to maintain IES illumination level for security and safety.

SMOKE/FIRE DETECTION: Provided design for state-of-the-art fire and smoke detection system for each room with local and site addressable monitoring.

PLUMBING: Renovated plumbing system for each floor, each room and common spaces. All new fixtures for common spaces are electronic.

FIRE PROTECTION: Designed new sprinkler systems to meet NFPA 13R for residential/dormitory facilities.

TECHNOLOGY: Designed Multi-Media Distribution System to meet the needs of new technology, internet access and long distance learning. Satellite, and room and student access to DSU campus computer network.

CONSTRUCTION REVIEW: Endecon, Incorporated provided construction review for the duration of construction. The project was completed on time and within budget.

STATUS: Construction completed 1995.
COST: $2.8 Million.

Description:

The building was constructed to house 120 students. Included in Endecon’s design for upgrade of the building were:

HVAC: Design of a zone chilled water system with individual room fan coil units. Provided fresh air to meet new ASHRAE requirement for Indoor Air Quality (IAQ). Upgraded ventilation and exhaust system for private rooms and public restrooms facilities. Automatic temperature control for individual room control and tie-in of the building into the campus energy management network.

Tie-in into the campus wide energy management system. Individual room automatic temperature control with interlock to the building site energy management system.

Upgraded ventilation and exhaust system for the private rooms, public restrooms and common spaces. Automatic temperature control for individual room control. Each room/building tied in to central site wide energy monitoring system.

ELECTRICAL: Provided design for upgraded electrical power distribution. Included were surge suppression system for each room for computers and other associated equipment.

LIGHTING: Upgraded lighting to meet new Illumination Engineering Society (IES) standards for residential/dormitory facilities. Women Residential Facility

Description:
Endecon, Incorporated was commissioned by the Delaware State University to provide Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Protection and Technology Engineering for these 450 students - 3 levels and basement Women’s Residence Hall. In addition to rooms, the facility has a washing/dryer room, lounge area on each floor, study room for (40 students) on first floor, reception and security area, hair dressing facility in basement, and workout area in basement. Endecon Engineering Design included:

HVAC: Piped chilled water air cooled system for cooling with how water boiler for heating. Fresh air is provided for each living space to meet current Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) standards. Each room was provided with individual thermostat for local space control.

ELECTRICAL: State of the art electrical system to meet normal code required. Electrical needs for general equipment. In addition, surge suppression and control was provided to accommodate student computer and computer access to the campus network system.

LIGHTING: Design for illumination level required for residential/dormitory facilities were provided.

FIRE ALARM: Full and functional smoke detector system with addressable station monitoring system was included. Control monitored by site security.

PLUMBING: Plumbing was state-of-the-art system with electronic hush valves for public areas and standard faucets for private rooms.

FIRE SPRINKLER: A wet system fire protection system was designed and incorporated in the building.

TECHNOLOGY: Provided design for a multi-media technology distribution network for each room (2 students per room) with individual access to the campus computer network and satellite system.

CONSTRUCTION REVIEW: Endecon, Incorporated provided construction review for the direction of construction. The project was completed on time and within budget.

STATUS: Project was completed in 1992.
COST: $6.8 Million.

Description:
Endecon, Incorporated was commissioned by the Facilities Department for Delaware State University to provide Consultant Engineering Services for this 100,000 sq. ft. academic library. Endecon, Incorporated services incorporated design of document preparation for the upgrade of:

· HVAC system and automatic temperature controls (ATC).
· Electrical and lighting upgrade incorporating energy efficient lighting system.
· Bid assistance.
· Construction Review.

STATUS: Construction completed in Spring 1999.
COST: $2.5 Million
